Terms of Use
Effective 22 September 2026
These terms cover the Remlo app for Mac, iPhone and iPad, and this website. Installing or using Remlo means you agree to them. They are written to be read.
Who provides Remlo
Remlo is made by Vas Frolik and published by Vas Frolik (“we”,
“us”), in Taiwan. The app is distributed on the App Store as Remlo,
bundle identifier app.remlo.Remlo. Contact:
me@vasf.io.
Apple is not a party to these terms. Apple distributes the app and handles payment. Everything else about the app is our responsibility, including support and any claim about it.
Your licence to use Remlo
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Remlo on the Apple devices you own or control, under Apple’s standard end user licence, for as long as your purchase or subscription is active.
The app itself stays ours. You may not sell it, rent it, redistribute it, or take it apart to build something from it. Your notes, drawings and everything else you write stay yours. We claim no ownership of your content and, since we hold no copy of it, we could not use it even if we wanted to.
Paying for Remlo
Remlo is paid. There are two ways to buy it, both through the App Store: a yearly subscription at the price shown in the store when you buy, currently $19 a year, or a one-time lifetime purchase, currently $149. A purchase covers every Apple device signed in to the same Apple Account.
Free trial. The yearly plan starts with a free trial of 7 days. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first year is charged automatically. The lifetime purchase has no trial.
Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and your Apple Account is charged then, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
Cancelling. Cancel any time in your Apple Account subscription settings, on your device or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. We cannot cancel a subscription for you; Apple controls that switch.
Refunds. Apple takes the payment, so Apple issues the refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple turns you down and you think that is wrong, write to us and we will tell you honestly what we can do, which is usually to ask Apple with you.
Price changes. Prices can change. An existing subscription keeps the price it was bought at for as long as it runs without a break. If a price change would affect a renewal of yours, Apple notifies you before it takes effect and asks you to agree, and you can cancel instead. A lifetime purchase is never charged again.
Family Sharing. Where it is enabled for a plan, the App Store’s Family Sharing rules apply and Apple decides who in the family gets access.
If the subscription lapses. Your notes are not deleted. They stay on your device and in your iCloud, and the app opens on the purchase screen until you subscribe again or buy the lifetime option. Export your notes from Settings if you want a copy outside the app.
What you are responsible for
- Your Apple Account and your devices. Access to Remlo travels with your Apple Account. Keeping that account and your devices secure is on you.
- Your backups. Remlo syncs through your own iCloud account and holds no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to restore for you. Keep iCloud backup on, and export your notes from Settings now and then if the data matters.
- What you send to other apps. When you hand a task to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or a command-line agent, you decide what goes. Once it leaves Remlo it is governed by that company’s terms, and it cannot be recalled.
- What you write. Your content is yours, including responsibility for having the right to keep it and for what you do with it.
Acceptable use
Do not use Remlo to break the law or to attack the app itself. Specifically, do not:
- store or distribute material that is illegal where you are;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law says you may;
- work around the paywall, the purchase check or any licence control;
- use the app’s local AI access server to reach data on a machine that is not yours.
AI features
Remlo can hand a task to an AI tool, and can let AI tools you configure read and write your notes through a local server on your own Mac. Both are yours to trigger. Neither runs on its own.
Those AI tools are made by other companies. We do not control what they do with the text you send, what they answer, or whether the answer is correct. AI output can be wrong, invented or harmful, and you should check anything before acting on it. If an agent with write access changes your notes, those are your changes, made under your instruction.
The AI features are provided as they are. We are not responsible for the output of third-party AI tools, for what those tools do with what you send them, or for anything an agent you authorised does to your notes.
No warranty
Remlo is provided as it is, with whatever faults it has. We work hard on it and test it, and we still do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will never lose data. Apple’s iCloud is a service we do not run, and sync depends on it.
Where the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be signed away, those rights stand and nothing here takes them from you.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profit, lost time or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using Remlo, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
This is the plain reason for that limit: Remlo is a small, independent app sold for a small price, and it never holds your data on our side.
Ending this
You can stop at any time. Cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings and delete the app. Your data goes with it, and what is in iCloud is removed from your iCloud settings.
We can end your licence if you seriously break these terms, for example by attacking the app or working around the purchase check. If we do, we will say why by email where we have an address for you, and you can still export your data from an installed copy.
We may also stop selling or supporting Remlo one day. If that happens, you keep the copy you have, your notes stay in your own iCloud, and we will give notice by email and on this site.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change when the app changes. The new version goes up on this page with a new effective date, and anything material is mentioned in the changelog email. Using the app after a change means you accept it. If you do not, cancel and stop using the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan, and the courts of Taiwan have jurisdiction, without taking away any protection the consumer law of your own country gives you.
